General Mental Health Assessment
A comprehensive psychiatric assessment to support diagnosis and treatment planning for mood, anxiety, trauma-related, and personality concerns.
Our general psychiatric assessments focus on understanding a broad range of mental health difficulties, including mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related conditions, and personality concerns. Assessments are structured to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and communication with your referring GP or psychologist. These sessions are suitable when neurodevelopmental conditions are not the primary concern.
What to expect
General psychiatric assessments begin with a referral from your GP, which we review to ensure the referral is appropriate for our clinic. If suitable, we will offer you an appointment time. All assessments are conducted via telehealth with one of our psychiatrists.
No pre-assessment questionnaires or collateral forms are required. During the appointment, your psychiatrist will explore your current concerns, personal history, and relevant background to develop a clear understanding of your mental health needs.
Following the assessment, a written report is provided to your GP. This includes diagnostic impressions (if applicable) and recommendations to support ongoing care, which may involve therapy, medication, or further review.
