Combined Assessment

A combined assessment process to clarify overlapping ADHD and autism features, supporting accurate diagnosis and personalised recommendations.

For individuals where both ADHD and autism are being considered, we offer a combined assessment process. This integrated approach helps to better understand overlapping features, and differentiate between the two conditions, leading to a more accurate diagnosis and personalised recommendations. A combined assessment may be appropriate when symptoms span attention, social communication, and sensory regulation.

What to expect

Combined ADHD and ASD assessments begin with a referral from your GP, which we review to confirm suitability for our clinic. If appropriate, we will offer you an appointment time. All assessments are conducted via telehealth with one of our psychiatrists.

Prior to your appointment, you’ll receive a pre-assessment screening package. This includes questionnaires focused on attention, executive functioning, social communication, and sensory processing, as well as a developmental history form.

We also request a collateral form to be completed by someone who knows you well—such as a parent, partner, or teacher. This helps us gather information about how your experiences present across different settings.

During the appointment, your psychiatrist will explore overlapping and distinct features of ADHD and autism using structured interviews and recognised clinical tools. After the assessment, a detailed report is shared with your GP, outlining diagnostic impressions and recommendations for support or treatment.
